Indian Music- An Important Aspect Of Indian Culture

One of the important aspects of Indian culture is obviously the Indian music. Hinduism has a great importance for Indian music which is beyond the imaginations. Hinduism gives a religious importance to music and dance. But you can say that in the beginning the Indian music is based on religion, on Hinduism. The songs that come to the front, the first songs were in fact the religious hymns and ballads. These hymns and ballad were basically called ‘Bhajans’. This ‘Bhajan’ is basically based on Hinduism religious facts, myths and their legends. But instrument used were very few, those days only sitar and Tabla were used as music instruments.

The songs of the early day were in Hindi but now the Latest Indian Songs are not only in Hindi but in other different languages that belong to India. This is a fact that India is very rich in the case of cultures and languages. There are many languages spoken in India. So the Indian music industry is the is very rich in music too. Due to the development in the communication and mass media the music of all the languages in India progressed well enough. But the most supportive media for the Indian music is the Indian film industry which makes the Indian music popular world wide.

The originality of the Indian music is not doubt the old Indian music and Old Indian Song. The basis of Indian music is the Raga and Tala. Tala is the rhythmic system while Raga is the melodic basis of Indian classical music. Raga not only refers to the musical ideas but also it inspires painters, art, architect and poets. And all these are the popularity of Indian culture, so you can say that Raga influences the Indian culture.
